Always Improving

I think it’s dangerous to think that you’re successful, because then you become complacent.

The Non-Surgical Aesthetic industry has grown massively in the past decade. The understanding of how to get the most out of our products and treatments improves constantly. There are always new medications, new skincare products and new devices coming onto the market.

At MIRA Clinic we don’t follow the trends that we see on social media. We go to conferences in Australia and overseas and talk with the companies and experts, we look at their data and we find the truth behind the optimistic claims being made. When we find the best new products it is our priority to fully understand them and make sure our team become experts in using them before we make the treatments available to our clients.

We currently offer over 30 different types of treatments in our clinic, and we are constantly updating our skills and knowledge about them. If we don’t perform a particular treatment its probably because we have tried it and didn’t feel that it offered good enough results to our patients to justify the cost, or the discomfort or the risk.

Dr Andrew only hires clinical staff who have already been working in aesthetic medicine for long enough to have proven mastery of the important procedures and concepts. They also need to have completed a Diploma (for skin therapists) or a Post Graduate Diploma in Skin or Cosmetic Nursing (for Nurses). Even with all these qualifications and experience, MIRA Clinic staff do not start treating clients until they have proven mastery of those treatments to Dr Clark. And once joining the MIRA Clinic team, staff receive regular training and mentoring from Dr Andrew and visiting experts in order to continually grow their knowledge and skills.

At MIRA Clinic we place huge value on science, learning and professional development.

About 15 years ago, quite early in my cosmetic medicine career, I was sitting in the audience listening to the first lecture of the day at Australia’s biggest cosmetic medicine conference. In the middle of the lecture, my colleague sitting next me leans over and says “I’ve been injecting for eight years, I’m not going to learn anything from this guy”, then he walked out of the conference and spent the rest of the weekend sightseeing. I remember feeling sorry for him missing out on hearing from all of the experts on stage.
I said to myself “no matter how much I learn I can always learn more
