One of the questions that we get asked all the time is when patients generally point in the direction of their face and ask us “What do I need?”
The truth is you don’t need any cosmetic treatments. They are elective treatments that are entirely optional so you shouldn’t feel any pressure from friends, family, or society to get anything done. Be particularly cautious of any advertisements or practitioners who are pressuring you to get any sort of cosmetic medicine treatment.
The role of the cosmetic medicine practitioner is to act as a guide, not a guru. They should educate you and allow you to make your own decisions. They should not be mandating a strict treatment protocol.
It really disturbs the MIRA Clinic team when we hear about aesthetic professionals telling their patients that they “must” get dozens of different treatments or else “it’s not worth bothering to do anything”.
The truth is that most of our patients don’t want to be turned into someone else via some sort of “miracle makeover”, they are actually quite happy with most aspects of their appearance but they want some guidance on how to economically make some subtle improvements to look a bit fresher without breaking the bank.
By really talking with you, by gaining an understanding of why you’ve come in to the clinic, and by carefully assessing your skin and your features we can use our experience to suggest the particular treatment options that you might want to consider. We want to target the particular areas that are amenable to improvements that are achievable and are likely to help you to look objectively less tired, less sad, less worried or just “better”.
At MIRA Clinic we are experts in the assessment of aesthetic patients.
We are very aware (and grateful) of the trust that our clients have given us by coming into our clinic and asking for guidance with such a personal goal. We strive to reward that trust by only giving authentic advice with the intention of helping our clients to be genuinely happy with the decisions they make in our clinic.
We have worked hard for many years to become a busy clinic. A big part of our success comes from our integrity and our desire to always put our patients first by not abusing your trust by recommending something you don’t need. Unlike most of our competitors, we do not work on commission and our staff incentives centre around patient satisfaction and not on patient spending.
We will talk through what each treatment involves, the costs, the risks and the probable results (and the likelihood of an underwhelming result). We want to give you all the necessary information needed for you to decide if you want to proceed with any particular treatment with us.
It is our goal for to achieve the goal of having a satisfied customer, even if that means recommending to have no treatment at all.
Before and After Pictures
With our extensive library of “before and after” pictures, we can demonstrate to you the real results that we have achieved for our actual patients which will guide you in your decision making. Our before and after pictures all demonstrate the actual results of our own patients with standardised clinical photography, no Photoshop, no lighting tricks and no changes in posture.
Due to the recent changes in the TGA guidelines [hyperlink to new TGA guidelines page on the MIRA Website – copy coming soon] there are a large number of before and after pictures that we are unable to show publicly online at this time. However, if you ask us during your consultation, we are able to show them to you in our clinic as a part of our thorough consultation with you.
Choosing your treatment from the hundreds available
It shouldn’t be up to the patient to tell the practitioner what treatment to perform and take responsibility for the results or lack thereof. Instead, it is the responsibility of the practitioner to assess the patient understand the patient and help the patient to choose treatments that are most likely to deliver acceptable results when compared with the cost of the treatment, the discomfort of the treatment the potential downtime of the treatment and the risks of the treatment.
There are so many different types of treatment options out there. And at MIRA Clinic we have a huge number of options available. We are the experts in performing these treatments, and our goal is to get the best results for our clients so save yourself the headache, and don’t feel obliged to pick the treatment that you ask your clinic to provide. Instead, choose a practitioner that you trust to assess you and give you advice on the most appropriate treatment for your goals and your unique features.
