What are crows feet?
Crows feet, also known as character lines and laugh lines are the clumps of small fine lines and wrinkles that appear around the corners of the eyes. These lines develop as we age, and usually become visible in the mid- to late-30s.
Production of elastin and collagen, the two proteins responsible for your skin’s elasticity minimise with age, and this is the start of the formation of crow’s feet.

We develop crows feet from the following
- Smoking
- Squinting
- Smiling
- Frowning
- Exposure to UV rays
- Excessive high pollution
At Mira Clinic we recommend that our patients do the following to help minimise lines:
- Use high factor sunscreen (over factor 30)
- Wear sunglasses
- Avoid smoking
Treating Crows Feet
Crowsfeet are a normal part of aging and do not need to be removed or fixed. However, many patients ask us about how they might be softened or reduced. In addition to the above mentioned preventative strategies, patients can reduce their crowsfeet lines by using high quality skincare tailored to their unique skin type, and undertake a range of different types of skin treatments.

Who is a candidate for crows feet treatment?
Candidates suitable for this treatment are people that are unhappy with the lines around their eyes. Patients that have this treatment usually feel that their crow’s feet make them seem older and more tired than they are.
They tend to be people in their early 30’s who have started to see signs of facial ageing.
